NOTE: The new SIR coil assembly will be centered. Improper alignment of the SIR coil assembly may damage the unit, causing an inflatable restraint malfunction. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT .

2	Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Procedure Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed. Tip Ensure the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil washer does not need to be replaced and is installed correctly before reinstalling the coil. If reusing the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil it must centered before reinstalling it. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Centering .

Procedure

Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.

Tip

Ensure the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil washer does not need to be replaced and is installed correctly before reinstalling the coil.
