Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT:
A service replacement evaporative emission (EVAP) canister will come with a EVAP canister filter, but will NOT come with a EVAP canister vent solenoid valve. The valve will have to be transferred from the old canister.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Disconnect the chassis EVAP pipe quick connect fitting (1) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Disconnect the fuel tank vapor line quick connect fitting (3) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Disconnect the fuel fill pipe vent line quick connect fitting (2) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Remove the EVAP canister nuts.
- Lower the EVAP canister until the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve electrical connector can be disconnected.
- Disconnect the rear body harness electrical connector from the EVAP canister vent solenoid.
- Remove the EVAP canister.
- Place the EVAP canister on a suitable work surface.
- Rotate the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve counterclockwise.
- Remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve.
