Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front hood molding. Refer to Hood Front Molding Replacement (Envoy) or Hood Front Molding Replacement (Rainier) .
    2. Fig 1: View Of Hood Insulator & Push-Pin Retainers

  2. Remove the push-pin retainers (2) from the hood and insulation.
  3. Remove the insulation from the tabs (1) and remove the insulation from the hood.

  4. Using a grease pencil or other suitable marking device, mark the position of the hood to the hinges (3).
  5. Remove the 4 bolts that retain the hood hinges to the hood with an assistant.
  6. Remove the hood from the vehicle with an assistant.
