Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the console shift lever bezel. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement (Buick) .
    2. Fig 1: View Of Trim Plate - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Oldsmobile/Buick)

  2. Remove the lower trim plate retaining screws.
  3. Starting at the bottom of the trim plate, release the 2 lower retaining clips and the 2 intermediate retaining clips.
  4. Release the 3 upper retaining clips.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors as necessary.
  6. If replacing the trim plate, perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the rear windshield wiper switch. Refer to Wiper/Washer Switch Replacement - Rear .
    2. If equipped, remove the cigar lighter and 12-volt power supply. Refer to 12-Volt Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
