Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW seal to the indicator tube.
  2. Install the oil level indicator tube.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the indicator tube nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  4. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LL8) or Catalytic Converter Replacement (LH6/LS2) .
  5. Install the transmission crossmember. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement .
  6. Remove the support from the transmission.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the transmission oil level indicator.
  9. Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON® VI transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
