Shift Indicator - A/T: Description and Operation

Circuit Operation
With the starter switch in ON OR START battery voltage is applied to the automatic transmission mode switch through the CB-14 BACK UP/TURN LIGHT fuse. The automatic transmission mode switch sends a signal to the powertrain control module (PCM) and the multiplexed indicator control unit corresponding to the gear selected. The multiplexed indicator control unit applies voltage to the appropriate A/T shift indicator light in the meter assembly, causing it to come on.
