Diagnostic Aids

Check following:

• Check PCM and system grounds. Ensure that all grounds are clean and secure.
• Check fuel injectors. Perform FUEL INJECTOR BALANCE TEST under FUEL SYSTEM in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article.
• Check spark plugs. Check insulators for cracks, carbon tracking or other damage. If a problem is found, replace faulty spark plug(s).
• Check ignition coil(s). Check for cracks or carbon tracking. If a problem is found, replace faulty ignition coil.
• Substitute a known-good ignition coil, or swap ignition coils cylinder-to-cylinder. If misfire follows coil, replace suspect coil.
