Brake Drag
- Check for incorrect return of master cylinder pistons. Adjust stop light switch and vacuum booster push rod or rebuild/replace as necessary.
- Check for restricted brakelines or hoses. Check for soft hoses or damaged lines. Replace with NEW hoses and double-walled steel brakelines as necessary.
- Check for maladjusted parking brake. Adjust as necessary.
- Check for insufficient parking brake lining clearance. Adjust as necessary.
- Check for insufficient brake pedal free play. Adjust brake pedal height or power cylinder operating rod as necessary.
- Check for sticking piston in master cylinder. Replace as necessary.
- Check for sticking piston in disc brake caliper. Replace piston seals as necessary.
- Check for brake pads sticking in caliper. Clean as necessary.
- Check for weakened return spring. Replace as necessary.
- Check for parking brake binding. If necessary, overhaul the parking brakes and correct.
- Check for incorrect front hub bearing preload. Adjust or replace if necessary.
- Check for parking brake shoes not returning. Correct or replace the brake back plate and brake shoes as necessary.
- Check for obstructions in hydraulic circuit. Clean as necessary.
- Check for excessively warped rotor. Grind or replace as necessary.
- Check for distorted rear brake drum. Grind or replace as necessary.
- Check for sticking parking cable. Grind or replace as necessary.
