Parking Brake Lever & Front Cable: Installation

  1. Apply grease (BESCO L-2 or equivalent) to the connecting portion of the rear cable and equalizer. See Figure. Connect parking brake rear cable to equalizer.
  2. Install trunnion pin to parking brake lever. Insert equalizer into trunnion pin and tighten adjust nut and lock nut. To adjust the parking brake lever, see REAR DISC PARKING BRAKE  or REAR DRUM PARKING BRAKE  under ADJUSTMENTS. Tighten lock nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Tighten the parking brake lever fixing bolt to the specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect switch connector. Install rear console. See Figure.
