Test D: Braking Distance Too Long Even With Abs Active

  1. Check base braking system and ABS braking system. If brake system is okay, go to next step. If any problems are found in brake system, repair as needed. Go to step  4 .
  2. Disconnect ECU 30-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ECU connector pins No. 1 and 20. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair battery circuit. Go to step  4 .
  3. With ignition on, place 4WD switch in 2WD position. Measure voltage between ECU connector pins No. 3 and 19. See Figure . If voltage ranges between 7.5-16 volts every 1/10th of a second, go to DIAGNOSTIC TESTS  . If voltage does not range between 7.5-16 volts every 1/10th of a second, replace ECU. Go to next step.
  4. Ensure all mechanical and electrical components are mounted correctly. If all components are mounted correctly, test is complete. Recheck system operation. If any components are not mounted correctly, repair or replace as needed. Repeat drive test and see if symptom is repeated.
