Voltmeter Inoperative

  1. If other gauges operate normally, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If other gauges are inoperative, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect instrument cluster connector I-9. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use DVOM and measure voltage in Blue/Yellow wire between ground and connector I-9 terminal No. 26 (terminal No. 15 on "S" models). See Figure . If battery voltage is indicated, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.
  3. Repair open in Blue/Yellow wire between dash fuse box and instrument cluster. Recheck system operation.
