Tod Indicator Status Does Not Change When Transfer Lever Is Shifted From Tod To 2H

  1. Turn ignition on. Backprobe ECU connector and measure voltage between ECU connector terminals No. 12 and 19 with 4WD switch in 4WD position. If no voltage is present, go to next step. If voltage is present, repair Brown/White wire between 4WD switch and ECU. Go to step  4 .
  2. Backprobe ECU connector and measure voltage between ECU connector terminals No. 12 and 19 with 4WD switch in 2WD position. If 12 volts are present, go to next step. If 12 volts are not present, repair Brown/White wire between 4WD switch and ECU. Go to step  4 .
  3. Backprobe ECU connector and measure voltage between ECU connector terminals No. 19 and 28 with transfer shift lever in 4L position. If battery voltage is present, problem is intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS  . Go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, replace ECU. Go to next step.
  4. Ensure all mechanical and electrical components are mounted correctly. If all components are mounted correctly, test is complete. Recheck system operation. If any components are not mounted correctly, repair or replace as needed. Repeat drive test and see if symptom is repeated.
