DTC 26: Electromagnetic Coil Shorted To Ground
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECU connector. Measure resistance between ECU connector terminals No. 4 and 20. If resistance is 1-5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1-5 ohms, go to step 3 .
- Reconnect ECU connector. Start engine. Place vehicle in TOD mode. Measure voltage between ECU terminals No. 4 and 20 with throttle fully closed and then fully open. If voltage is .1 volt at closed throttle and 1.0 volt at open throttle, problem is intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS . Go to step 4 . If voltage is not as indicated, replace ECU. Go to step 4 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect 12-pin in-line M27 connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Measure resistance between M27 connector terminals No. 7 and 8. If resistance is 1-5 ohms, repair open in Brown and/or Light Blue wires. Go to next step. If resistance is not 1-5 ohms, replace electromagnetic coil. Go to next step.
- Ensure all mechanical and electrical components are mounted correctly. Clear DTC. If all components are mounted correctly, test is complete. Recheck system operation. If any components are not mounted correctly, repair or replace as needed. Repeat drive test and see if symptom is repeated.
