DTC 23, 36, 37 & 38: Ecu Failure

  1. Turn ignition on. If system does not operate, replace ECU. Perform ROAD TEST OF FAILED VEHICLE  . If system operates, go to next step.
  2. Clear DTC. Perform ROAD TEST OF FAILED VEHICLE  . If problem is present during test run, replace ECU. Perform ROAD TEST OF FAILED VEHICLE  . Go to next step. If problem is not present, see INTERMITTENTS  . Go to next step.
  3. Ensure all mechanical and electrical components are mounted correctly. Clear DTC. If all components are mounted correctly, test is complete. Recheck system operation. If any components are not mounted correctly, repair or replace as needed. Repeat drive test and see if symptom is repeated.
