Removal (Hombre)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Shift transmission into 3rd or 4th gear. Remove shift lever and housing. Raise and support vehicle.
- Drain transmission oil. Disconnect parking brake cable and position aside. Mark drive shaft for installation reference. Remove drive shaft. Disconnect wire harnesses from speed sensor and back-up light switch.
- Detach wire harness from right side of transmission and position aside. Separate muffler from catalytic converter. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold. Remove catalytic converter and exhaust pipe.
- Remove left and right side transmission-to-engine braces. Disconnect clutch release cylinder hydraulic line quick coupler. Remove clutch housing cover.
- Detach fuel lines and wire harness from rear crossmember. Support transmission with jack. Remove rear crossmember. Remove transmission-to-engine bolts. Slide transmission rearward and remove from vehicle.
- Mark pressure plate and flywheel for installation reference. Support clutch assembly with clutch aligner. Remove pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts evenly in a diagonal pattern. Remove clutch assembly.
