Removal (Hombre)

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Turn steering wheel 90 degrees to access holes to air bag. See Figure. Insert screwdriver and push leaf spring to release pin. Turn steering wheel 180 degrees and repeat procedure on opposite side.
  3. Tilt air bag out to access wiring harness. Detach wiring harness from clips. Pull Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip out and disconnect air bag wiring harness.
