Passenger's Door Does Not Lock/Unlock: Hombre
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Display current Body Control Module (BCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If DTCs are displayed, go to appropriate DTC diagnostic and repair procedure. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULE article. If no DTCs are present, go to next step.
- Remove passenger's side door lock/power window switch. See DOOR LOCK SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect test light between ground and door lock/power window switch connector terminal "D" (Orange wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light comes on, go to step 4). If test light does not come on, go to next step.
- Repair open in Orange wire between instrument panel fuse block and door lock/power window switch connector. Recheck system operation.
- Connect a fused jumper wire to door lock/power window switch connector terminal "D" (Orange wire). Intermittently contact other end of fused jumper wire to terminal "E" (White wire) and to terminal "C" (Light Blue wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If both doors lock and unlock, go to next step. If both doors do not lock and unlock, go to step 6).
- Replace passenger's door lock switch. See DOOR LOCK SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Reinstall passenger's door lock/power window switch. Use scan tool and display inputs from passenger's door lock/power window switch. Depress passenger's door lock switch to unlock position. If scan tool shows change in status, go to next step. If scan tool does not show change in status, go to step 8).
- Remove door unlock relay. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS table. Connect a fused jumper wire between door unlock relay cavity terminals No. 3 and 5. If passenger's door unlocks, go to step 9). If passenger's door does not unlock, go to step 10).
- Repair open in White wire between body bussed electrical center, BCM and power window switches. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
- Replace door unlock relay. Recheck system operation.
- Connect test light between ground and passenger's door lock actuator connector terminal "A" (Tan wire). Cycle switch to unlock position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 12).
- Disconnect passenger's door lock actuator connector. Connect test light between terminals "A" (Tan wire) and "B" (Gray wire) of actuator connector. Cycle switch to lock and unlock positions. If test light comes on, go to step 13). If test light does not come on, go to next step.
- Repair open in Tan wire between actuator and body bussed electrical center. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
- Replace passenger's door lock actuator. See DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Repair open in Gray wire between actuator and body bussed electrical center. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
