Amigo & Rodeo
- Check REAR WIPER & WASHER (10-amp) fuse in dash fuse box. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and recheck system operation. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect rear wiper/washer switch located in center of dash. Use DVOM and check continuity of rear wiper/washer switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If switch is okay, go to next step. If switch is not okay, replace switch.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use DVOM and measure voltage between ground and rear wiper washer switch harness connector terminal No. 5 (Light Green/Black wire). If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, repair open or poor connection in Light Green/Black wire between rear wiper/washer switch and dash fuse box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Disconnect rear wiper motor. Connect a fused jumper wire between battery voltage and rear wiper motor terminal No. 4 (Red wire). Connect jumper wire between ground and rear wiper motor terminal No. 6 (Black wire). If rear wiper motor operates, go to next step. If rear wiper motor does not operate, replace rear wiper motor. See REAR WIPER MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check that ground connection C-36 is secure. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS table. Repair if necessary. If ground connection is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Set rear wiper/washer switch to ON position. Use DVOM and measure voltage between ground and rear wiper motor connector terminal No. 4 (Light Green/Blue wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, repair open Yellow/Red wire between rear wiper/washer switch and alarm and relay control, repair open Brown/White wire between alarm and relay control unit and rear wiper motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuits are okay, replace alarm and relay control unit. After repairs, recheck system operation.
- Repair poor connection at wiper motor connector.
