Front Wipers Do Not Park: Hombre

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Rotate wiper switch to OFF position. Disconnect wiper/washer switch connector. If wipers go to park position, go to next step. If wipers do not return to park position, go to step 3).
  2. Replace wiper/washer switch. See MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Use DVOM to measure voltage between ground and wiper/washer switch connector terminal E8 (Dark Green wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If reading is greater than one volt, go to next step. If reading is less than one volt, go to step 7).
  4. Reconnect wiper/washer switch connector. Disconnect wiper motor assembly connector. Use DVOM to measure voltage between ground and wiper motor assembly connector terminal "A" (Dark Green wire). See Figure. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If reading is greater than one volt, go to next step. If reading is less than one volt, go to step 6).
  5. Repair short to battery voltage in Dark green wire between wiper/washer switch and wiper motor assembly. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  6. Replace wiper motor circuit board. See WIPER MOTOR CIRCUIT BOARD  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  7. Use DVOM and measure voltage between ground and wiper/washer switch connector terminal E5 (Gray wire). If reading is greater than one volt, go to next step. If reading is less than one volt, go to step 6).
  8. Reconnect wiper/washer switch connector.
  9. Repair short to battery voltage in Gray wire between wiper/washer switch and wiper motor assembly. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
