Removal & Installation (Amigo, Rodeo & Trooper)

  1. Ensure steering wheel is centered. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 5 minutes before removing SRS module. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Yellow connector from under steering column.
  2. Remove steering wheel nut. Mark steering wheel to ensure proper alignment upon installation. Use Steering Wheel Puller (J-29752) to remove steering wheel from steering column.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten steering wheel nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
