Removal & Installation (Hombre)
- Ensure multifunction switch lever is in centered (off) position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
- If equipped with tilt column, grasp tilt lever and pull firmly toward driver's door to disengage retainer. Remove steering column upper and lower trim panels and any necessary trim panels. See Figure.
- Remove wiring harness retaining straps. Disconnect multifunction switch Gray and Black connectors. Remove multifunction switch mounting bolts, and remove switch from steering column.
- Install multifunction switch to column, using a small screwdriver to compress electrical contact while moving switch into position. Ensure electrical contact of switch is resting on canceling cam assembly. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
