Removal & Installation (Amigo, Rodeo & Trooper)

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove column shrouds and lower instrument panel trim panel. Disconnect ignition switch 8-pin harness connector and remove tie-straps retaining harness to column.
2. Remove ignition switch retaining screw from ignition switch/column lock assembly. See Fig 1. To access switch retaining screw, it may be necessary to remove upper column bracket bolts from instrument panel in order to lower steering column.
3. Remove ignition switch from rear of ignition switch/column lock assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
