Removal & Installation (Amigo, Rodeo & Trooper)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 5 minutes before removing air bag module. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
  2. On Trooper, remove center console and knee bolster. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL . Remove upper and lower column shrouds. See Figure. Disconnect switch wiring connector and remove tie-straps retaining harness to column.
  3. Remove combination switch retaining screws and slide switch off column. To install, reverse removal procedure. Align SRS coil. See ADJUSTMENTS . Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
