Passenger's Seat Recliner Inoperative

  1. Disconnect passenger's power seat switch connector T-12. With passenger's power seat switch in neutral position, use DVOM to check for continuity between switch terminals No. 3 and 5, and between terminals No. 2 and 6 (switch side). If continuity is indicated, go to next step. If continuity is not indicated, at all terminals, replace switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Reconnect passenger's power seat switch. Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe switch connector terminal No. 3 (White wire at switch) with switch depressed to move seatback forward. Also backprobe switch connector terminal No. 6 (Brown wire at switch) with switch depressed to move seatback rearward. If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, replace passenger's power seat switch and/or recliner motor. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES or SEAT MOTORS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .
