Driver's Seat Front Tilt Inoperative

  1. Disconnect driver's power seat switch connector T-1. With driver's power seat switch in neutral position, use DVOM to check for continuity between switch terminals No. 1 and 8, and between terminals No. 3 and 6 (switch side). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity is indicated, go to next step. If continuity is not indicated, at all terminals, replace switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Disconnect driver's seat front tilt motor connector T-4. Momentarily connect fused jumper wire between battery voltage and driver's seat front tilt motor connector (motor side) terminal No. 1 (Yellow wire). Connect jumper wire between ground and driver's seat front tilt motor connector (motor side) terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Red wire). Reverse connections. If seat front tilt motor operates in both directions, go to next step. If motor does not operate in both directions, replace driver's seat front tilt motor. See SEAT MOTORS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Repair open in Yellow wire or Yellow/Red wire between driver's power seat switch and front tilt motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
