Passenger-Side Mirror Does Not Work In All Directions: Hombre

  1. Remove power mirror switch but do not disconnect. Turn mirror select switch to passenger's side. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "K" (Purple/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 3). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  2. Replace power mirror switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "J" (Red/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 2).
  4. Disconnect passenger's power mirror and power mirror switch connectors. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect test light between power mirror connector terminals "K" (Purple/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 8). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  5. Connect test light between ground and power mirror connector terminal "K" (Purple/White wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in either direction, go to next step. If test light does not come on in either direction, go to step 7).
  6. Repair open in Yellow wire between passenger's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  7. Repair open in Purple/White wire between passenger's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  8. Connect test light between power mirror connector terminals "J" (Red/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 10).
  9. Replace passenger's power mirror. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  10. Connect test light between ground and power mirror connector terminal "J" (Red/White wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in either direction, go to next step. If test light does not come on in either direction, go to step 12).
  11. Repair open in Yellow wire between passenger's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  12. Repair open in Red/White wire between passenger's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
