Driver-Side Mirror Inoperative: Hombre

  1. Remove power mirror switch but do not disconnect. Turn mirror select switch to driver's side. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "C" (Light Green wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 3). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  2. Replace power mirror switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "F" (White wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 2).
  4. Disconnect driver's power mirror and power mirror switch connectors. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between power mirror connector terminal "C" and power mirror switch connector terminal "D" (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If reading is less than 0.5 ohms, go to next step. If reading is greater than 0.5 ohms, go to step 6).
  5. Replace driver's power mirror. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  6. Repair open in Yellow wire between power mirror switch and driver's power mirror. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
