Removal & Installation
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheels. Remove caliper from support bracket. See FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER . Remove disc pads and pad shims (if equipped). See Fig 1 or Fig 2. If reusing pads, mark locations for installation reference. Remove disc pad clips from caliper support, and discard clips. Minimum pad lining thickness on Hombre is .030" (.76 mm). Minimum pad lining thickness on Amigo, Rodeo and Trooper is .039" (1.0 mm).
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Open bleed screw and depress piston into caliper bore (if necessary). Install NEW disc pad clips and shims where necessary. Apply Silicone grease to caliper sliding surfaces. Used pads must be installed to original position. Install pads to caliper support with wear indicator on lower inside.
