Master Cylinder: Reassembly

  1. Lubricate master cylinder bore and parts with clean brake fluid. If removed, install secondary spring onto secondary piston.
  2. Install secondary piston assembly, primary piston assembly and snap ring using a gentle twisting, rotating motion to avoid damaging new rubber seals. Depress primary piston. Install piston stopper bolt with NEW gasket.
  3. If master cylinder fluid reservoir was removed, install reservoir grommets with flared side toward master cylinder body. Install cylinder body dust seal with groove turned downward. Bench-bleed master cylinder before installing. Install master cylinder on power brake unit. Bleed hydraulic system (if necessary).
