MAINSHAFT Assembly: Inspection

  1. Measure clearance between block rings and their respective gear dog teeth. See Fig 1. Standard clearance is .059" (1.50 mm) with limit of .031" (.80 mm). If clearance exceeds limit value, replace block ring.
  2. Place mainshaft onto "V" blocks and measure center portion runout. See Fig 1. Mainshaft runout should not exceed .002" (.05 mm). Replace as necessary.
