Removal & Installation (Manual Hub)

Place transfer case selector lever in 2H position. Set hub selector knob to FREE position. Raise and support vehicle. 2) Remove wheel and brake caliper. Wire caliper aside. Remove 6 bolts and locking hub. Remove lock washer and hub nut. Remove outer bearing and brake rotor. Remove inner bearing. See Fig 1 .
To install, reverse removal procedure. For front hub inspection, see LOCKING HUBS article. Check wheel bearing preload with a spring scale. See WHEEL BEARING PRELOAD . See Figure .
