Universal Joint & Flange: Disassembly

  1. To aid in overhaul of U-joint assembly, refer to exploded view illustration. See Fig 1. Apply alignment marks on the yokes of the universal joint. See Fig 2.

  2. Tap out the bearing by gently striking the shoulder of the yoke, using a mallet or a copper hammer. See Fig 3.
  3. Remove spider with grease fitting.
  4. Remove the flange yoke.
