Removal & Installation (Automatic Hub)
- Place transfer case selector lever in 2H position. Move vehicle forward and backward about 3 feet. Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel and brake caliper. Wire caliper aside. Remove 6 bolts and automatic locking hub. Remove lock washer and hub nut. Remove outer bearing and hub and disc assembly. Remove inner bearing. See Fig 2 .
- To install, reverse removal procedure. For front hub inspection, see LOCKING HUBS article. Check wheel bearing preload with a spring scale. See WHEEL BEARING PRELOAD . See Fig 1 .
