Rear Disc Brake Pads: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels. Release parking brake fully. Disconnect parking brake cable from caliper. Remove lock bolt.
  2. Rotate caliper upward and remove caliper from support bracket. Mark pad locations if reusing. Remove pads and shims. Remove and discard pad clips.
  3. Depress caliper piston using pliers. Minimum pad lining thickness is .04" (1.0 mm).
