Test A-3, Wheels Lock During Braking

  1. If ABS system is not working, go to step 3). If ABS system is working, check for normal transmission input. Refer to TEST C-4, TRANSMISSION INPUT INSPECTION. If transmission input is okay, go to next step. If transmission input is not okay, replace transmission switch or repair wiring as necessary.
  2. Check transfer switch for normal operation. Refer to TEST C-3, 4WD SWITCH INSPECTION. Replace transfer switch or repair wiring as necessary. If transfer switch is okay, ensure hydraulic unit is grounded properly. If hydraulic unit ground is okay, replace hydraulic unit.
  3. Ensure wheel speed sensor output is normal. Refer to TEST C-2, SENSOR OUTPUT INSPECTION. Replace sensor or repair wiring as necessary. Ensure transmission switch input is normal. Refer to TEST C-4, TRANSMISSION INPUT INSPECTION. Replace transmission switch or repair wiring as necessary. Ensure transfer switch input is normal. Refer to TEST C-3, 4WD SWITCH INSPECTION. Replace transfer switch or repair wiring as necessary.
  4. If all previous steps have been completed, and component malfunction does not exist, replace EBCM.
