Test B-12, Speed Sensor Short Circuit (DTC'S 61, 62, 63 & 64)
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect Pinout Box (J-35592). Using a DVOM, measure resistance between the following pinout box terminals. If DTC 61 is present, measure between terminals No. 4 and 22. If DTC 62 is present, measure between terminals No. 21 and 23. If DTC 63 is present, measure between terminals No. 8 and 9. If DTC 64 is present, measure between terminals No. 24 and 26.
- If resistance is not 800-1300 ohms at all terminals, measure resistance at each speed sensor connector. If resistance is 800-1300 ohms, repair wiring or connection between appropriate speed sensor and EBCM. If resistance is not 800-1300 ohms, replace speed sensor.
- If resistance is 800-1300 ohms at all terminals, inspect wheel speed sensors. If speed sensors are loose, damaged or powdered iron is sticking to speed sensor or sensor ring, repair or replace speed sensors as necessary.
- Check for normal speed sensor output. Refer to TEST C-2, SENSOR OUTPUT INSPECTION. Replace sensor or repair wiring as necessary. Inspect for disconnected wiring or connections. Repair as necessary and perform system self-check. If no faults are found, replace EBCM.
