Test B-10, Abnormal Valve Relay (DTC 45)

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect Pinout Box (J-35592). Using a DVOM, measure resistance between pinout box terminals No. 17 and 27. If resistance is 75-120 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 75-120 ohms, disconnect hydraulic unit connector. Measure resistance between hydraulic unit Light Green/Yellow wire and Green/Orange wire. If resistance is 75-120 ohms, repair wiring or connector as necessary. If resistance is not 75-120 ohms, replace hydraulic unit.
  2. Check continuity between pinout box terminals No. 10 and 32. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check continuity between hydraulic unit Gray wire and valve relay Black wire. If continuity does not exist, hydraulic unit is faulty. Replace hydraulic unit. If continuity exists, check continuity of hydraulic unit Black wire connector and body ground. If continuity does not exist, repair Black wire as necessary. If continuity exists, repair open in Gray wire.
  3. Measure voltage between hydraulic unit Yellow/Green wire and body ground. If battery voltage is present, valve relay is malfunctioning. Replace hydraulic unit. If battery voltage is not present, repair fuse or wiring between battery and hydraulic unit.
