Rear Disc Brake Caliper: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. To depress caliper piston, install Piston Adapter (J-37617) to uneven section of piston. Open bleed screw. Rotate piston adapter clockwise until piston stops turning.
  2. Back piston out slightly until piston is centered. See Fig 1 . Apply high temperature brake grease to caliper sliding surfaces.
  3. Ensure hooked edge of flex hose is in the hole to prevent rotation. Bleed hydraulic system. Adjust parking brake. See PARKING BRAKE (REAR DISC BRAKES) under ADJUSTMENTS.
