Parking Brake (Rear Drum Brakes): 1.6L
- Move parking brake to full release position. Loosen parking brake cable by loosening lock nut and turning adjusting nut on equalizer bracket. See Fig 1
. Start engine and step on brake pedal several times to automatically adjust rear brakes. Turn engine off.
- Apply 66 lbs. (30 kg) of force to parking brake handle, 3 or 4 times, and move handle to full set position. If lever is properly adjusted, travel range (between fully disengaged and fully engaged position) will be 7-9 notches. Reset adjusting nut if travel range is not within limits.
