Inspection (SOHC)

  1. Inspect components for damage. Check rocker arm shaft diameter and runout. Replace rocker arm shaft if measurements are not within specification. See ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
  2. Measure rocker arm shaft outside diameter where rocker arm contacts shaft. Measure rocker arm inside diameter. Subtract rocker arm shaft outside diameter from rocker arm inside diameter to arrive at proper oil clearance. Replace rocker arm shaft and/or rocker arm if oil clearance is not within specification. See ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
