Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal: Installation

  1. Ensure all sealing surfaces are clean. Apply engine oil to lip of oil seal. Using Seal Installer (J-35264), install seal in seal housing.
    CAUTION: DO NOT apply too much Loctite to flywheel bolts. If too much Loctite is used, flywheel bolts may work loose during vehicle operation.
  2. DO NOT reuse flywheel bolts. Ensure no oil is present in threads of crankshaft. Apply Loctite to NEW flywheel bolts. Install flywheel. Tighten all bolts to specification. Tighten flywheel bolts in a diagonal pattern. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure.
