Removal (Turbo)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain coolant. Remove intercooler. See INTERCOOLER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect O2 sensor connector. Remove left and right undercovers.
  2. Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold converter. Disconnect turbocharger air inlet hose. Remove 2 bolts attaching power steering pump to engine. Position power steering pump with hoses attached out of way.
  3. Remove bracket from wastegate manifold. Remove heat protector from turbocharger. Remove upper heat protector from exhaust manifold. Disconnect turbocharger coolant hose from coolant pipe.
  4. Remove turbocharger oil feed pipe joint bolt from cylinder block. Disconnect turbocharger oil return hose from turbocharger. Remove bracket from manifold converter.
  5. Remove oil dipstick and dipstick tube from cylinder block. Disconnect EGR pipe bolts from exhaust manifold. Loosen EGR pipe bracket bolt. Remove exhaust manifold with turbocharger and manifold converter as an assembly.
  6. Remove heat protector from wastegate manifold. Remove coolant pipe bracket bolts and coolant pipe from exhaust manifold. Remove wastegate manifold with manifold converter as an assembly from turbocharger.
  7. Remove 5 bolts attaching turbocharger to exhaust manifold. Remove turbocharger from exhaust manifold.
