Thrust Bearing

Install thrust bearing on main bearing so grooves are toward crankshaft, away from cylinder block. Replace thrust bearing if crankshaft end play is not within specification. See CRANKSHAFT, MAIN & CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
