Intake Manifold: Installation

  1. Ensure all sealing surfaces are clean. Apply 3/16" bead of silicone sealant to front and rear sealing ridges of cylinder block.
    CAUTION: Intake manifold gaskets are marked RIGHT and LEFT. Ensure gasket is used in proper designated area.
  2. Install new manifold gaskets on cylinder block. Install gaskets on cylinder head. Extend a 1/4" bead of silicone sealant upward from cylinder block, on ends of gasket on cylinder head. Cut new side gaskets where indicated for installation behind push rods.
  3. Install intake manifold and retaining bolts/nuts. Tighten bolts/nuts to specifications in sequence. See Fig 1 . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure. Fill cooling system.
