Front Cover Oil Seal (3.1L): Installation

  1. Using Seal Installer (J-35468), install seal in front cover. Install seal with open end of seal toward the inside of front cover. Lubricate seal lip with engine oil.
  2. Lubricate vibration damper-to-seal contact surface with engine oil. Using Vibration Damper Installer (J-29113), install vibration damper. Install vibration damper bolt, and tighten it to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure.
