Thrust Bearing Alignment

Install bearings in engine block. Position crankshaft in place. Install thrust bearing on both sides of No. 3 crankshaft journal with grooves in side of bearing facing outward. Move crankshaft fully forward and measure clearance between crankshaft and thrust bearing. If clearance is greater than .012" (.30 mm), replace thrust bearing.
