Engine Front Cover: Removal

  1. Remove cylinder head as previously outlined. Remove oil pan. On non-turbo models, remove oil pump pick-up tube.
  2. On all models, remove all drive belts. Remove vibration damper assembly. If A/C equipped, remove compressor and mounting brackets and position aside. On non-turbo models, remove distributor. Remove timing belt cover and timing belt pulleys on turbo models. See TIMING BELT & PULLEYS (TURBO MODELS)  .
