Front Disc Brake Caliper: Reassembly

  1. Lubricate piston square ring seal and cylinder with brake fluid or silicone grease. Insert seal into groove in caliper bore.
  2. Install dust boot on piston. Lubricate piston with brake fluid and insert into caliper with finger pressure.
  3. Position piston in caliper so that it protrudes approximately .040" (1 mm) out of cylinder end. Install dust boot seal ring.
