Camshaft Bearings

  1. Measure camshaft journal diameters. Install rocker arm shaft brackets and tighten nuts to 16 ft. lbs (22 N.m). Measure bearing inside diameter with a cylinder bore indicator.
  2. If bearing clearance (difference between camshaft journal diameter and bearing inside diameter) is greater than .006" (0.15 mm), replace worn components.
