Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY (1) 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Disconnect AWD control unit connector.
      3. Check the voltage between AWD control unit harness connector and ground.
        (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
        AWD control unit
        Connector Terminal
        M100 7 Ground 0 V
      4. Ignition switch ON.
        CAUTION:

        Never start the engine.

      5. Check the voltage between AWD control unit harness connector and ground.
        (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
        AWD control unit
        Connector Terminal
        M100 7 Ground Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 3.

    NO>>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY (2) 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Check the 10A fuse (#53).
      3. Disconnect fuse block (J/B) connector.
      4. Check the continuity between AWD control unit harness connector and fuse block (J/B) harness connector.
        AWD control unit Fuse block(J/B) Continuity
        Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
        M100 7 M44 31Q Yes
      5. Check the continuity between AWD control unit harness connector and the ground.
        AWD control unit - Continuity
        Connector Terminal
        M100 7 Ground No

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Perform the trouble diagnosis for ignition power supply circuit. Refer to appropriate Wiring Diagram.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.

  3. CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY (3) 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Check the voltage between AWD control unit harness connector and ground.
        (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
        AWD control unit
        Connector Terminal
        M100 15 Ground Battery voltage
      3. Ignition switch ON.
        CAUTION:

        Never start the engine.

      4. Check the voltage between AWD control unit harness connector and ground.
        (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
        AWD control unit
        Connector Terminal
        M100 15 Ground Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 5.

    NO>>

    GO TO 4.

  4. CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY (4) 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Check the 5A fuse (#18).
      3. Disconnect fuse block (J/B) connector.
      4. Check the continuity between AWD control unit harness connector and fuse block (J/B) harness connector.
        AWD control unit Fuse block (J/B) Continuity
        Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
        M100 15 M44 2Q Yes
      5. Check the continuity between AWD control unit harness connector and the ground.
        AWD control unit - Continuity
        Connector Terminal
        M100 15 Ground No

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Perform the trouble diagnosis for battery power supply circuit. Refer to appropriate Wiring Diagram.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.

  5. CHECK AWD SOLENOID POWER SUPPLY (1) 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Disconnect AWD solenoid connector.
      3. Check the voltage between AWD control unit harness connector and ground.
        (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
        AWD control unit
        Connector Terminal
        M100 9 Ground Battery voltage
      4. Ignition switch ON.
        CAUTION:

        Never start the engine.

      5. Check the voltage between AWD control unit harness connector and ground.
        (+) (-) Voltage(Approx.)
        AWD control unit
        Connector Terminal
        M100 9 Ground Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 7.

    NO>>

    GO TO 6.

  6. CHECK AWD SOLENOID POWER SUPPLY (2) 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Check the 10A fuse (#20)
      3. Check the harness for open or short between AWD control unit harness connector M100 terminal 9 and 10A fuse (#20).

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Perform the trouble diagnosis for battery power supply circuit. Refer to appropriate Wiring Diagram.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.

  7. CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT GROUND 
      1. Ignition switch OFF.
      2. Check the continuity between AWD control unit harness connector and ground.
        AWD control unit - Continuity
        Connector Terminal
        M100 10 Ground Yes

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Inspection End.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.
